Professional Learning Services

The entry point for professional learning varies from school to school and is dependent on many factors including focus, time and budget. Angela provides a consultation with schools before crafting customized services to ensure that professional learning will best address their needs.

All professional learning can be provided on-site or remotely and are designed to help teachers use different models for instruction.

Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction Reviews

A good starting point for moving forward is to examine what you have. Angela conducts both informal and formal reviews of curriculum documents, assessment systems, and/or instructional practices. Using criteria established in partnership with the school community, Angela analyzes school materials and resources, meets with teachers, students, families, staff and/or administrators and visits classrooms to provide schools with observations, feedback and a plan of action for achieving their identified goals.

Professional learning Programs

Angela designs curriculum, assessment, and instruction professional development programs that provide teachers with clear guidance, space to reflect on their practice, opportunities to work collaboratively, and time to design and apply their learning to their instruction. Each program is designed to address the unique needs of the school and individuals participating in the program.

Design Programs

Professional learning, with an emphasis on design, requires additional time for the creative work of planning and writing. Angela provides additional support to participants in design programs through written feedback and individual conferences.

Written Feedback, personalized Conferences and Coaching

Regardless of the content or structure of the program, Angela always includes opportunities for feedback and individualized support in her programs. Sometimes, though, individual support is a school’s most urgent need. Curriculum, assessment, and instructional coaching support is available as a stand-alone service for administrators, teacher leaders, instructional coaches, teacher teams, or individual teachers.
